Humans are the principal sapient lifeforms found throughout the known universe. Though various genetic variants and sub-species existed (most of which were created by the Bene Tleilax), as a general species humans were the one advanced sentient biological lifeforms found within the universe.

Humans originated on the planet Earth and spread out to countless other habitable worlds to establish the Old Empire.
