"And you. I don't know you. And that's a problem because it's my job to know everyone around here. Even the degenerate smuggler I declined to mention, Asmara Efendi. Of course I know that rogue. It's my job to know and I'm good at my job. But then you come along to make me look bad in front of my superior."
―Tors to the Prisoner[src]

Sub-Prefect Tors was an official of the Imperium.

Biography

Awakening

Tors was sent to interrogate the Prisoner after they were arrested for being spotted with Zantara's cielago, Noctua. Accompanied by Sardaukar, he entered the cell and was eager to deal with it quickly, as he had a transport due to arrive soon. He ordered Arsen Demo, Vitor Azat and another prisoner to leave. He approached the Prisoner and was disturbed that he did not know them, as it was his job to know everyone in Harko Village, which made him look bad in front of his superior. He told them that they had been seen fleeing the wreck of the Proteus, where the bodies of all the occupants had been accounted for. He demanded to know their identity and their connection to Zantara.

As he had no time to continue the interrogation, Tors ordered the Sardaukar to kill the Prisoner. Count Hasimir Fenring entered the cell and stated that he did not intend to slight Tors, he believed the interrogation would benefit from his own visage. Fenring then removed his mask and the Prisoner stole a Sardaukar blade, attempting to stab themself. Tors knocked the blade out of their hand, after which they began to beat themself. Fenring explained to Tors that it was hypno-ligation, which conditioned the Prisoner to kill themself upon seeing his face. Fenring then put his mask back on and ordered that the Prisoner be taken from the cell.[1]
